Greetings from Converge2013 in hot and humid Orlando, Florida. This is day one of an entire week of meeting, greeting, education, networking, and fun. As you can see from the photograph below, the Arrow SI booth is still a bit of a mess, but I guarantee that it will be ready for action when the doors finally open. I won’t call it magic since I am well aware of the heroics and dedication that go into preparing a tradeshow booth, but it’s the next best thing. In a matter of hours we will go from a pile of boxes to the snazziest booth in the exhibit hall. It’s truly a sight to see.
This afternoon I had the honor of being interviewed by Guy Clinch of Avaya as part of the Converge2013 podcast series. Like me, Guy has been in this industry for 30+ years and his questions were spot on as to why we are both here. As I wrote in my previous Arrow S3 blog, it’s all about education. Okay, education and having some fun, but in the end the knowledge gained from these gatherings will be of immense help after I get back to the daily grind of my “regular job.”

Tonight is the Avaya customer appreciation party. Not only does Avaya make the best communications solutions in the world, but they also know how to say thank you to their loyal customers. In fact, the only better “thank you” will come from Arrow SI when we throw our big bash at The House of Blues this coming Wednesday. Does that sound like bragging? You bet it does, but after all my years of IAUG conventions, I know what I speak of.
